Virtuozzo OnApp 6.6 Edge 4 - October 2021:

  • Virtuozzo OnApp
    • Added ability to install Windows 2022 Server on virtual servers.
    • Improved encryption of the smtp_password parameter in the database.
  • Virtual Servers
    • Made it possible to cancel a TakeBackup transaction, which is running longer and exceeding the time set for a zombie transaction, for virtual servers, application servers, and smart servers at the Logs page and in the Activity Log section of the Virtual Server Details page.
    • Added ability to change the label, hostname, and password when cloning KVM-based virtual servers.
  • Compute Zones and Compute Resources
    • Added the CPU Blacklisted Flags table that lists CPU flags, which a virtual server should skip when starting, for a compute zone with the enabled Extended CPU Configuration option and a compute resource added to the compute zone with the enabled Extended CPU Configuration option.
    • Improved processing of CPU flags for compute zones with extended CPU configuration and compute resources with different CPU flags in the compute zone.
  • vCenter and vCloud
    • Complemented the price for edge gateway with the price for sub-allocated IPs’ usage.
    • Synchronized all changes of edge gateway configuration sub-allocated IPs in billing so that your invoices are up to date.
    • Added possibility to configure Edge Gateway IP via API.
    • Added ability to resync VCD virtual servers to synchronize the changes made on the VMware side with OnApp.
  • Updated UI
    • Updated UI of several pages to match the new UI layout design.

Virtuozzo OnApp 6.6 Edge 3 - August 2021

  • The plain password usage for API access option is disabled by default to enhance security.
  • Made it is possible to enable or disable virtio mode when editing the disks of Windows-based virtual servers, application servers, ISO virtual servers, OVA virtual servers, and smart servers if the templates these servers are built on support kvm_virtio.
  • Added the ability to show and hide at the CP login page for each provider to control which providers to show or hide for CP users.
  • Started to support Veeam Backup & Replication 11.
  • NSX-V Edge Gateway:
    • Made the resource pool statistics show the total price for network usage, which includes the cost for all NSX-V edge gateway sub-allocated IP addresses.
    • Synchronized NSX-V edge gateway configuration sub-allocated IPs with billing so that the invoices are up to date.
  • NSX-V Edge Gateway:
    • Made sub-allocated IPs for NSX-T edge gateways imported from vCloud visible on the Control Panel and used for billing.
  • Updated UI:
    • Updated UI at the Load Balancer Cluster Details, Template, Settings, and Location Groups pages.

Virtuozzo OnApp 6.6 Edge 2 - July 2021

  • UUID
    • Started to store disk partition UUIDs during the backup procedure and restore disk partition UUIDs during the backup restore procedure to solve the issues when the UUIDs are changed and VS refuses to boot.
    • Made UUID constant for virtual servers so now it does not change after VS reboots, shutdowns, etc.
  • Made it possible to define the primary IP for the interface to be used as source IP for outgoing traffic by default.
  • Started to support the OpenDaylight Controller 0.14.0 version.
  • Made it possible to configure the size of snapshot taken to the backup virtual disk.
  • Updated UI
    • Updated UI at the Backups, Backup Resources, Recovery Points, Service Add-Ons, Custom Recipe Variables, Adjust Resource Allocations, and Snapshots for this Virtual Server pages.
    • vCenter and vCloud
      • Started to support VMware Cloud Director version 10.2.2.
      • Started to support Windows 10 virtual servers in VMware environment.
      • Made the sub-allocated IPs for NSX-T edge gateways accessible at the Edge Gateway Overview page.
      • Reduced execution time of ConfigureOperatingSystem transaction.

Virtuozzo OnApp 6.6 Edge 1 - July 2021

  • Added the possibility to see and delete zombie networks from the Alerts page.
  • Added new permission, Allow user to set CPU topology, which allows the user can set CPU topology options for an application server.
  • Made it possible to create a gateway that does not require authentication to send notifications.
  • Updated the CPU Usage for Virtual Server, Autoscaling Configuration, Assigned Recipes, Custom Recipe Variable, Service Add-ons, Acceleration Reporting, Network Interface, Firewall Rules, IP Addresses for Virtual Server, Edge Accelerator Details, Disks, Container Server Details, Application Server Details, and Edit Guest Customization pages to match the new UI layout design.

Virtuozzo OnApp 6.5 Edge 5 - April 2021

  • Updated UI
    • Updated the Virtual Server Details page;
    • Updated the Select Application Port Profile dialog box at the NSX-T Firewall Rules page;

  • Added possibility to access the NSX-T edge gateway services in VMware Cloud Director via the Virtuozzo OnApp Control Panel.

Virtuozzo OnApp 6.5 Edge 4 - March 2021

  • Enhanced the security of API keys.
  • Added possibility to:
    • use NSX-T edge gateways to provide routing services and connectivity to networks that are external to the NSX deployment;
    • manage NSX-T edge gateways’ allocation to customers and charge them for the consumption via Bucket;
    • create NSX-T firewall rules, a set of customizable rules, to protect the system against network threats.

  • The VS data store that doesn’t have a free disk or its free space is less than the smallest disk size is now excluded from full, hot full, and xen2kvm migrations.
  • Introduced the possibility to remove backup resources if the virtual server owner is changed for those using a backup plugin attached to your virtual server.

Virtuozzo OnApp 6.5 Edge 1 - January 2021

  • Introduced a more consistent approach for password encryption; updated the name and structure of the Virtuozzo OnApp database dump file.

Virtuozzo OnApp 6.4 - December 2020

  • Updated UI
    • Updated the view of the Buckets menu, placeholders, and inputted texts.
  • vCenter Server
    • Introduced the automatic migration from old compute resources to the newly introduced vCenter server resources. Accordingly, a cluster is treated as compute resource and named after it, placed in a separate compute zone, also named after cluster.
    • Added an ability to delete a vCenter server from Control Panel and view the activity logs at the vCenter servers view page.
  • vCenter Resource Pool
    • Added ability to change the owner of the vCenter resource pool.
  • NSX Integration
    • Provided ability to GET additional info relating to NSX Edges via API.

Virtuozzo OnApp 6.4 Edge 1 - November 2020

  • TOTP Authentication
    • Now it is possible to enable the TOTP Authentication option for your users to enhance account security by using time-based two-factor authentication for logging in.
  • Create and Manage Roles
    • Added possibility to use one of the default Virtuozzo OnApp roles as a template to create a new custom role as well as clone a default role.
  • Updated UI
    • Updated the design for the 505 and 404 Error landing pages.
    • Updated the icons on the tree structure and the Buckets menu and the status icons and other service icons on the tables and table content.
  • Other Improvements
    • Added the possibility to set the value for RabbitMQ continuation timeouts.
    • Added the possibility to start the virtual server with the compute resource having more than 240 vCPUs.
    • Improved Virtuozzo OnApp daemon to accelerate auto-backup jobs processing.
  • vCenter and Cloud
    • Added the possibility to import the vSphere Standard Switches (VSS) from vCenter to Virtuozzo OnApp, and use Virtuozzo OnApp for vCenter with basic licensing.
    • Now it is possible to use the vCenter resource pools to delegate control over the resources of a host (or a cluster).
    • Added the possibility to add and bill for each cluster from the vCenter side as a compute resource on the Virtuozzo OnApp side separately.
    • Improved the process of vCenter integration.

Virtuozzo OnApp 6.3 - September 2020

  • Migration from Xen to KVM (Windows)
    • Introduced the possibility to migrate Windows-based virtual servers from Xen to KVM compute resource.
  • Edge Accelerator Operator Dashboard
    • Added the possibility to view bandwidth statistics generated for the last 24 hours or more in the Operator Dashboard menu.
  • Sub-allocated IP Pools
    • Introduced the sub-allocated IP pools to improve the management of vCloud Edge Gateways.
  • Passthrough Host CPU Configuration Model
    • Added Passthrough host CPU, which is one of the CPU model configurations, that allows to group compute resources with similar CPU performance characteristics into compute zones.
  • Updated UI
    • Updated the user interface with the new look and feel for all UI components.
  • Virtual Network Interface Support and Custom Network Configuration for Integrated Storage
    • Added support for virtual network interfaces and the ability to view, create, and edit advanced network interfaces for Integrated Storage compute resources and smart servers.
    • The complex network configuration can now be configured manually to make them compatible with Virtuozzo OnApp Integrated Storage.
  • Live Log for Migrations and Transactions
    • Now users can inspect their transactions in real time.
    • For the full migrate and hot full migrate it is possible to watch the migration process in real time.
  • OVA Install Method for Virtuozzo OnApp Control Panel
    • Started to supply an official method to install the Virtuozzo OnApp Control Panel via OVA as well as to install CentOS & Virtuozzo OnApp and configure networking, MySQL, RabbitMQ, and more.

    • Added the possibility to manage your IP nets routing on your own using virtual Routers.
  • TRIM
    • Implemented the Trim functionality that enables an operating system to inform an SSD that some blocks of data, such as deleted files, are no longer used and can be wiped internally.
  • VS fluidity
    • Added the possibility to migrate virtual servers between compute resources that don’t share the same network and so enable workloads portability between hypervisors within any Virtuozzo OnApp cloud.
  • User’s Permissions Restriction
    • Added the possibility to prohibit a user from creating role with permissions that exceed those that are granted to them.
    • Implemented a non editable, non deletable Admin role for the cloud owner to be able to set up a super Admin account allowing to enable or disable any permission for any created role.
  • Clone virtual server
    • Added a possibility to create a copy based on the same resources as the origin virtual server.
    • Added the possibility to clone a vCenter virtual server.
  • IP reporting
    • Added the possibility to track the IP history: now you can view when the IP addresses were assigned or unassigned to a particular user and so prevent illegal activity such as spamming or hacking.
  • Integrated Storage on Static Compute Resources
    • Added the possibility to run integrated storage on static compute resources.

  • Accelerator 2.0
    • Implemented Accelerator 2.0 functionality to enable acceleration for all types of networks:

  • LVM Locking for Data Stores

  • Migration from VMware solutions to KVM virtualization
    • Implemented the functionality to migrate virtual servers from vCloud Director and vCenter to KVM.
  • Support of Virtual Servers from OVA with multiple disks and network interfaces
    • Implemented the functionality to create virtual servers with multiple disks and network interfaces:
    • Added possibility to create virtual servers with multiple disks and NICs based on OVA template.
    • Implemented data stores selection instead of data store zones in the VS creation wizard.
  • Billing statistics
    • You can download a CSV file with billing statistics from the Virtual Server Billing Statistics and User Billing Statistics pages.
  • Improvements for Backup Plugin System
    • Added the possibility to browse and restore files and directories available within a VS recovery point.
  • SDN Improvements
    • You can attach and detach SDN networks from SDN nodes, reattach SDN nodes and cleanup SDN orphaned tunnels left after detaching network from a node.

Virtuozzo OnApp 5.9 - July 2018

  • Backup Plugin System
    • Developed a new backup plugin for Veeam Backup & Replication that you can install to your Control Panel.
    • Implemented the possibility to back up vCloud Director virtual servers by means of a backup plugin for Veeam Backup & Replication.
    • Added the possibility for users to create a recovery point for a virtual server.
  • Compute Resources
    • Implemented the CPU Quota functionality to prevent abuse CPU usage affecting virtual servers on KVM compute resources.
    • Added the possibility to select a failover recipe for a compute resource that will be run before a failover process.
    • Added the possibility to set and edit an operating system type for compute resources.
    • Removed the possibility to change a compute resource type to achieve consistency in a compute resource lifecycle.
  • Virtual Servers
    • Introduced a new mechanism for calculating a max memory for virtual servers that reside in KVM compute zones with the ballooning and max memory options enabled.
    • Added possibility to set a custom CPU quota for a virtual server to overwrite a default value set for a KVM compute resource.
    • Introduced the possibility of editing a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for Xen and KVM based virtual servers.

    • Added the possibility to disable billing to hide all pricing and billing information from your users in Control Panel.
    • Added the possibility to apply the same limits and prices for all zone resources of the same type while adding or editing a zone resource in the bucket.

Virtuozzo OnApp 5.8 - May 2018

  • Implemented SDN Controller and VXLAN Management functionality to enable building network infrastructure with Virtuozzo OnApp and remote data centers.
    • Implemented SDN Manager functionality to manage the SDN infrastructure using API calls for the ODL controller.
    • Implemented SDN Nodes functionality to be able to add and destroy nodes from SDN Manager.

Virtuozzo OnApp 5.7 - February 2018

  • Introduced phase 2 for Notification Center:
    • Implemented ability to add custom event types, add them to subscriptions and trigger such event types.
    • Added non-deletable system notification templates for the reset password, account lock, and transaction approval events and made those templates customizable.
    • Added a list of available placeholders for notification templates which can be associated with events.
    • Added ability to add multiple recipients lists, gateways and events to a single subscription.
    • Added ability to configure whether HTTP or HTTPs should be used in system notification templates.
    • Added possibility to customize the email to which requests will be sent from the online help form.
  • Removed restrictions related to Buckets that have been present in 5.6 Edge release:
    • Added Baremetal server type resources to buckets.
    • Added Smart server type resources to buckets.
    • Adapted Federation billing plans to the buckets functionality.
    • Added the Instance Packages resources to the bucket’s Access Control and Rate Card for the Virtual server type.
    • Added billing for CDN resources.

Virtuozzo OnApp 5.5 - September 2017

  • Added ability to add private vCenter compute zones to Federation and to create and manage vCenter VSs via the Federation.
  • Added possibility to add secondary disks for VSs using the XFS file system.
  • Implemented ability for certain users to approve or decline transactions performed by other users in the cloud.
  • Implemented all power state actions for vApps.
  • Improved OVAs functionality: added slider, which enables hot migration for OVA virtual servers; added Windows support for OVA; added support of additional file formats for virtual hard disk drives.
  • Improved Service Add-ons functionality: added ability to assign service add-on during VS creation; added ‘On Destroy VS’ and ‘On Rebuild VS’ events; added Raise Event action; added slider which enables VS provisioning for service add-on; added ability to run recipe action on Control Panel; added ability to add icon for service add-on group.
  • Improved Virtuozzo OnApp and vCenter integration functionality: updated statistics collection mechanism; created a mechanism which synchronizes changes in vCenter with OnApp.
  • Implemented service insertion framework functionality, which allows you to bring other portals into OnApp.
  • Added ability to specify SSH keys when accessing shadow VS from compute resources on source cloud.
  • Added ability to use OpenSSL utility to generate random passwords.

Virtuozzo OnApp 5.4 - May 2017

  • Virtuozzo OnApp 5.4 introduces network IP nets. A network can include several IP nets which are IP ranges with a default gateway. This will allow for future IPv6 improvements and software-defined network (SDN) capability.

Virtuozzo OnApp 5.3 - January 2017

  • Virtuozzo OnApp 5.3 reinforces the role of the types for compute, data store, network and backup server zones. Now all of the compute, data store, network and backup server zones have one of the following types: Virtual, Baremetal, Smart or VPC. All individual resources (compute resources, data stores, backup servers and networks) inherit the type of the zone with which they are associated. All vCloud Director related resources have the VPC type.
  • Implemented Service Add-ons functionality, which allows you to offer to your customers additional services on top of your current IaaS Virtual Server offering. Service Add-on functionality provides the ability to add services to a virtual server.
  • Added CDN Overview Report, Cache Statistics Report, Status Codes Report and Bandwidth Statistics Report. CDN reporting functionality allows you to study and review the in-depth analysis on your own CDN resources by viewing different reports.
  • Added ability to set up your virtual server configuration so that it can function as a gateway for the network interface.
  • Introduced auto healing - an auto-scheduling option to repair degraded vdisks. This functionality can be used only in case there are no serious issues with Integrated Storage.
  • Added the resource difference feature. If the size of certain resources is changed, the logs will contain the information about both the current and the previous size of the resource.
  • Added the Service Catalog page. The service catalog page gives you quick access to the the creation wizard of most common Virtuozzo OnApp entities.

Virtuozzo OnApp 5.2 - December 2016

  • Implemented possibility to import OVA files as templates. This allows you to deploy VSs created at other virtualization platforms in OnApp. OVA virtual servers are based on specific OVA templates which are created after you upload OVA file to the cloud.
  • Introduced Cloud motion functionality, which allows buyers and users to move virtual servers between locations in Federation if they’re using integrated storage. This functionality is currently in beta.
