We are very pleased that Systemy Informatyczne ITXON has become a Virtuozzo value-added distributor for Poland!

ITXON has served the Polish business market for more than 20 years, initially specializing in anti-virus software, then expanding into cybersecurity as an Acronis partner.

Now ITXON offers a broad range of backup and cybersecurity solutions, together with Virtuozzo cloud and virtualization solutions, providing Polish MSPs and enterprises with a one-stop shop for modern, secure IT infrastructure.

The alternative to VMware cloud

CEO, ITXON

According to ITXON CEO, Bartosz Prauzner-Bechcicki, Poland is a dynamic market with companies at all stages of the cloud adoption journey. Virtuozzo’s broad range of cloud and hosting solutions, with a focus on ease of use and low cost of ownership, offers a great alternative for all – especially when companies are looking for a VMware replacement

“If we look at the hot topic of the moment, the changes to VMware, there is definitely an appetite among larger companies for an alternative cloud platform,” says Bartosz. “The impact of the Broadcom acquisition has put some businesses in a position where they have to make a 100% platform switch. Other companies are looking to move a portion of their workloads, and introduce a complementary platform rather than a full replacement.”

“Virtuozzo gives us the flexibility to help with each scenario, to have that discussion,” he adds.

The alternative to “free” DIY solutions

In the traditional web hosting space, ITXON is keen to introduce Virtuozzo as the logical upgrade to “free” do-it-yourself solutions based on KVM, or entry-level virtualization products such as Proxmox.

“Virtuozzo is a great way to keep the benefits of open-source, but remove the engineering and support overhead so your hosting business can scale,” says Bartosz.

“It’s based on OpenStack but packaged for the service provider use case, and with Virtuozzo taking care of platform maintenance and support, it frees up your team to focus on the value-added activities that differentiate your service.”

The easy way to begin your cloud journey

At the same time, Bartosz says, there are plenty of companies in the region that have yet to fully embrace the cloud IT model.

“There are many opportunities for companies in Poland to improve efficiency with cloud-based IT,” he says. “Among smaller businesses, in particular, there are still many that rely on servers under a desk, or in a cupboard, and to some extent there is still work to be done to help these companies understand and accept the benefit of effectively outsourcing that infrastructure to a local cloud provider.”

“It’s the same journey, however, that they have already been through in the cybersecurity space,” he adds. “It’s becoming harder to secure your business and ensure effective backup without using cloud-based services: these strategies just work more effectively when they leverage cloud technologies. In the same way, we will see companies who are a little late coming to the cloud party, begin to recognize the efficiency and automation benefits of migrating their compute to the cloud, too.”

Poland market dynamics

ITXON also emphasizes the importance of local and localized services for businesses in Poland. Companies want relationships with local partners, and the ITXON partner network is ready to help.

“It’s important that products are available in our language, and that you can get support from local experts in our language,” Bartosz says. “Above all, the journey to the cloud requires local, sovereign cloud infrastructure that delivers low latency and enables companies to comply with local laws. It’s another reason why Virtuozzo’s ‘alternative cloud’ ethos is perfect for companies in our region.”
