Virtuozzo Server 7.5 Update 7 (7.5.7-129)

1. Overview

Virtuozzo Server 7.5 Update 7 introduces a way to convert system containers to virtual machines, support for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, and bug fixes. Additionally, it provides a new kernel 3.10.0-1160.119.1.vz7.224.4.

2. New Features

  • Introduced the Ubuntu 24.04 LTS container OS template. (PSBM-156967)
  • Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is now a supported guest OS in virtual machines. (PSBM-156967)
  • You can now convert supported system containers to virtual machines. For more details, refer to Converting Containers to Virtual Machines with the c2v-convert Tool. (PSBM-152796)
  • Rebased the kernel to RHEL7.9 kernel-3.10.0-1160.102.1.el7. (PSBM-152011)

3. Bug Fixes

  • Memory corruption leading to a crash in nodes in rare cases. (PSBM-159393)
  • The ‘destroy’ action could appear for virtual machines after rebooting on an updated Virtuozzo Server 7.5 Update 6 node. (PSBM-158518)
  • Incorrect disk statistics in Virtuozzo Automator for a running container if the ‘.statfs’ file is in the disk folder. (PSBM-157996)
  • The systemd ‘daemon-reexec’ could break running units in a container due to incorrect ordering of command-line parameters after an update. (PSBM-157515)
  • ‘apt-get update’ returned the ‘404 Not Found’ error message for the ‘Translation-en’ file in Ubuntu and Debian containers. (PSBM-157457)
  • Fixed a typo in the ‘–ostemplate’ parameter on the prlctl man page. (PSBM-157313)
  • Fixed the nftables rules for a dynamic set update. (PSBM-156601)
  • Added the missing ‘ct-preset-deb’ package in the Ubuntu 22.04 template for containers. (PSBM-156069)
  • Now, when a node cannot access Virtuozzo repositories (such as when a local repository mirror is in use), instead of the ‘An outdated Virtuozzo Server version’ message, MOTD will show the ‘NOTE: Unable to contact http://repo.virtuozzo.com to confirm your version is in active support.’ message.   • Fixed an issue where containers failed to live-migrate from the node they resided with the ‘Error (criu/sockets.c:462): sockets: Can’t set 41:78 (len 4): Protocol not available’ error message. (PSBM-155340)
  • After a ReadyKernel update, a host node could fail to respond to an NDP solicitation request, and the IPv6 address was unavailable in a container. (PSBM-153018)

4. Installing the Update

Install the update with yum update. Reboot the host and switch to the new kernel.
